Contests, and of what variety?

Do you guys want to do any contests? If so, what kind? Photo, cage, making things, what? How often? Every week, two weeks, month, three months, four months, year... hm?
I have thoughts, but I'll post them once I see some of yours Razz

Contests are always fun... but you have to have prizes for them. That's the tricky party.

I do like cage contests, photo contests, etc etc. Maybe also doing a couple non-glider related could be fun too.

I mean, there could be some with small prizes and some with large. Or like the photo contest on GC. I could put your photo somewhere within the layout, y'know? That's what I was thinking as far as small photo contests. I think those are fun. Then maybe every once in a while, a larger photo contest for a prize. The prizes thing will be easier when we have more vendors around that might donate stuff. Etc, etc.

Contests are fun...there doesn't always have to be a prize. I have to think about this though because the same old contests get boring raspberry

Indeed! I know of photo contests and cage contests, and there used to be [Amanda, come tell us!] things you made contests.

You know what's sometimes fun? A sig game contest Smile

It would be a weekly (or whatever sum of time; fortnight?) where there is a judge who picks a theme and then people make signatures to match. The winner is the next judge. I don't know if it would work, but it's a good test of computer graphic skills for those who like.

Member of the month. they can get a special title/graphic for the next month, or a photo of choice on the forums or something like that.

Caption contests for photos?

What we used to do is everyone picks a theme and then anyone who wants to enter makes a toy/cage set item/whatever to follow that theme. Everyone votes on the individual items. The winner gets to pick a charity to give money to. The items are all then sent to the contest holder's home and the contest holder puts it up for auction on CritterBin. Whatever is made from that auction, minus the price of shipping to the highest bidder gets sent to a charity. Smile

...that's the gist.
